Jais

Jais was an ancient town in the Rae Bareli District. Once it was the capital of King Udyan. The town was named after Malik Mohammad Jaisi. He was a great poet belonged to this place. In his memory a monument (the Jaisi Samrak) has been constructed there.
Jais has produced some of the best Shia scholars in India and also famous epic writers as Malik Mohammad Jaisi.

    My father was posted as junior engineer in power corporation in jais from 1981-1984, so i was there too with my family. I was in school bal vidhya mandir, my brother and sister was in malik mohammad jaisi and ggic respectively. Me and my siblings have unforgotten memories. We all r emotional attached to JAIS. INDIRA GANDHI and RAJIV GANDHI were frequent visitors of jais in that time. For me no place can be like jais.
